Full-Time Dog Nanny & Household Manager - West New York, NJ

A wonderful client in West New York, NJ, is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and compassionate household manager to ensure the smooth daily operation of her home and to provide attentive care for her three small Pekingese dogs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing both pets and household responsibilities with professionalism and care. This is a long-term role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working independently, and builds strong trust with the principal.

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 9:30am - 6pmFlexibility required for needed evenings, weekends, and overnights during travel periods, could be up to a month of travel at a time Split shifts may be arranged when evening coverage is needed.

Responsibilities

Pet Care- Thoughtful, hands-on care for three Pekingese dogs (ages 5 and 10):

Morning park outing (~90 minutes), including off-leash time (must be comfortable and confident managing behavior off-leash)

Daily walks, including a final walk around 5:30–6:00 PM

Maintain a consistent feeding routine; assist with food prep and problem-solving picky eating

Monitor dogs' wellness and behavior

Provide affection, structure, and enrichment; understand their personalities and provide leadership energy

Coordinate and attend grooming and vet appointments

Provide overnight care when the principal is traveling (dogs sleep in the bed)

Household Management:

Oversee and manage part-time housekeeper (on-site 2–3 days/week)

Coordinate additional help as needed (e.g., dog walkers)

Maintain household organization and ensure all essentials and groceries are stocked

Handle package deliveries and returns

Act as point of contact for vendors and home maintenance

Create and update a household manual

Run errands, manage bill payments, book travel, and assist with occasional PA duties

Ability to assist with meal prep or healthy GF cooking would be a huge bonus

Qualifications

Highly intuitive, self-directed, and naturally organized

Genuinely loves animals and has strong prior pet care experience

Able to balance a calm, professional presence with warmth and approachability

Strong common sense, excellent judgment, and “leader energy” to manage dogs and household tasks effectively

Emotionally mature—able to take feedback without defensiveness and maintain discretion

Skilled in anticipating needs and solving problems proactively

Comfortable with flexible scheduling and overnight stays when needed

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in a private home or household service role

Valid driver’s license, reliable car, and clean driving record

Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Flu (up to date)

Must live within an easily commutable distance of the home

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 DOE

Flexibility to choose:• Full healthcare coverage• Partial healthcare + overnight stipend ($100–$150/night)

Mileage reimbursement for work-related driving
