Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Schedules appointments for authorizations, if needed.

Communicates appointment information in a timely matter to patients.

Communicates referral/authorization information and pertinent medical information to the specialty provider and patient.

Discusses with patients in a professional and polite matter any aspects of the referrals preprocess as needed or as requested by the treating provider, keep patients and providers informed of status.

Tracks all referrals in designated system.

Makes phone calls, pre-registers and performs other clerical duties as assigned.

Obtains insurance pre-certifications and prior authorizations for procedures, diagnostic testing, imaging for patients and other ancillary services as assigned.

Communicates appointment information in a timely matter to patients.

Skills, Education and Experience:

Self-driven and self-motivated

Excellent computer skills, faxing, scanning and spreadsheets knowledge or EMH/HER programs required.

The ability to maintain confidential information and adhere to HIPPA regulations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Medical terminology knowledge preferred but not required.

Insurance experience preferred but not required.

***In order for current employees to be eligible to receive a referral bonus, the applicant cannot have worked at GRH previously and the applicant must include the full name of a current GRH employee on their UKG application in the blank provided. New hires must be hired for a regular, non-casual position to be eligible for bonus. New hires must not drop status for two years after hire for referring employee to get the full bonus. Managers will not be eligible if referring a new team member to their respective department
