Location: Chicago, IL (relocating soon to Glenview, IL)

Hire Type: Direct-Hire, Onsite

Target Pay Rate: $40.00/hour

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Machinist to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, fixtures, and assembly equipment used in the manufacturing of instruments. You will also be tasked with creating prototypes and models based on technical drawings or verbal instructions.

Job Duties:

Set up and operate a variety of toolroom machines including drill presses, milling machines (manual and CNC), engine lathes, and surface grinders, ensuring all operations are performed safely and accurately.

Fabricate and repair various types of dies, fixtures, and custom assembly tools based on engineering drawings or verbal directions from management.

Build prototypes and models of fixtures, dies, and assembly equipment for new products and production processes.

Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers and Team Leaders to interpret design concepts and bring them to life through precision machining.

Maintain equipment and ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Inspect finished tools and equipment for accuracy and conformance to specifications.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Toolmaker, Machinist, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

Skilled in operating manual and CNC machine tools.

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Solid understanding of safety protocols and quality standards in a machining environment.

High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship in tool & die making or machining preferred.
