Contract: 12 Month Contract

The position would be working for HKA at the COLUMBUS, OH facility

1 PTO day per month on the 1st of each month

9 paid holidays offered

Outline:

ONSITE POSITION, MUST BE LOCAL TO COLUMBUS, OH AT THE TIME OF RESUME SUBMISSION PER THE CLIENT. Expect 4 days per week onsite, and one hybrid during onboarding/training (~2 months). 3 days onsite will be the ongoing expectation.

Ideal Candidate for this position:

• Not an advanced programmer. Oversee the design and solutions. Some coding. (80/20). More leadership than just a doer.

• Tools - VISIO

• Working with Jr Developers

• Creating technical JIRA cards. Explain in detail how a task should be done

• Visual Studio, legacy code to determine where changes will need to be made.

Skills Needed:

• .NET developers that have experience writing back-end services in C#.

• Experience with Entity Framework, XML documents, and APIs is a must.

• We do development in both .NET Framework and .NET core, so experience in both is needed.

• Experience working with Java, YAML/RAML, and MuleSoft are highly desired (skills in similar API / Orchestration software may be considered)

Scope:

The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for system analysis, design, development and testing for their assigned technical product(s) or application(s), within the context of an agile/DevOps delivery model. In addition, they will extend their DevOps responsibilities to take on Operations topics and may also fill the Agile delivery roles of Business Analyst and Scrum Master.

Responsibilities:

This role plays a critical part in the end-to-end software development lifecycle within the clientâ s Financial Services ecosystem. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, support, and delivery of scalable software solutions, while also fulfilling Agile roles such as Business Analyst and Scrum Master where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis & Design

• Interpret and analyze business requirements in alignment with client and related processes.

• Conduct technical analysis of new and legacy systems.

• Evaluate and triage support tickets to determine root causes and required actions.

• Prepare design documentation, estimates, and technical collateral.

• Mentor team members on legacy systems and technical workflows.

Development & Testing

• Perform software development and configuration tasks using client-approved tools and practices.

• Conduct and participate in code reviews and technical consultations.

• Develop and execute unit tests.

• Support system, integration, and user acceptance testing efforts.

• Manage and resolve defects in alignment with quality standards.

Operations & Support

• Direct tier-2 support efforts and manage escalated issues.

• Enhance and utilize DevOps and monitoring tools to improve operational efficiency.

• Plan and execute system upgrades and hardware/software replacements.

• Operate within ITSM/ITIL frameworks to ensure service level alignment and system stability.

Agile Business Analysis

• Act as a Business Analyst within Agile teams to deeply understand business processes, rules, and workflows.

• Define functional solutions and build user stories that reflect business goals.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define acceptance criteria, and maintain the product backlog.

• Validate deliverables against acceptance criteria to ensure alignment with expectations.

Scrum Master Responsibilities

• Guide Agile teams through the adoption and execution of Scrum principles.

• Plan and facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.

• Work closely with Product Owners to refine and manage the backlog.

• Remove impediments to team progress and foster a collaborative environment.

Coordination & Leadership

• Coordinate daily team activities and lead release planning efforts.

• Mentor junior team members and provide technical and procedural guidance.

• Track progress, manage risks, and escalate issues as needed.

• Support resource planning and ensure accurate time tracking.

Strategic Impact

• Deliver technical solutions that balance quality, cost, and time-to-market.

• Anticipate future technology and business needs in solution design.

• Adapt to a dynamic, evolving Agile development environment.

Stakeholder Communication

• Maintain close collaboration with internal IT teams, business units, and external partners.

• Communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions, upholding clientâ s core values.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience

• 5â 10 years of IT experience.

• 3â 5 years in application development within a Microsoft environment.

• (Preferred) 1â 2 years in Financial Services or related industry.

• (Preferred) Experience working in a global or multi-location team.

Technical Skills

• Strong grasp of software development principles, systems architecture, and Agile methodologies.

• Proficient in:

• C#, ASP, ASP.NET

• JavaScript, AngularJS

• T-SQL, databases

• Familiar with:

• Java, Web technologies, Siebel, SAP

• Understanding of leasing and loan systems in Financial Services is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
