SSOE is seeking a Structural Designer to join our team, allowing the selected individual the opportunity to participate in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for the world’s leading companies.
As a Structural Designer, you will work with other contributing mid-senior level structural engineers and design teams to create exciting and complex designs incorporating some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure the timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Produces finished plans and specifications and final acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction results.
Completes work on major engineering/architectural projects or total design work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assists in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
Serves as a design lead on single-discipline projects and may serve as a design lead on multi-discipline projects.
Writes the scope of work for design based on preliminary review and meetings with the customer
May assign and review the work of the project design team. Checks the progress of work and alerts the project manager to changes of scope or additional services.
May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate them to the team.
May represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
Travel required.

Qualifications
What You’ll Need on Day One:
Associate degree or certification of completion of other post secondary training in engineering fields preferred.
Minimum eight (8) years of experience with SSOE as a designer or ten (10) years of related designer experience with former employer(s).
Ability to fully utilize and leverage all aspects of Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks software is essential. MicroStation skills are also beneficial.
Certification course in Civil/Structural discipline, Associate or Bachelor degree tracked in CAD/BIM Design Technology or related field is preferred.
Ability to organize and set up drawing packages to clearly show the requirements of the project.
Good working knowledge of the IBC, AISC and ACI standards and specifications, as well as other related industry standards, specifications and guidelines.
Ability to work well with other team members in the same office or remote locations.
Have the ability to complete the modeling and drawing portion of a project from start to finish.
Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.
Valid driver's license is required. May be waived for international assignments.#LI-JS1
