As an Associate Recruiter, you will join the Talent Acquisition & University Relations team that is responsible for finding exceptional talent for Valero. In this role, you will find candidates for full-time positions as well as intern and university hires to support various lines of business. You will complete full life cycle recruiting to include: posting, sourcing, screening, advising, negotiating, and presenting offers.

Communicates with hiring managers to understand business needs, job specifications, and team dynamics. Assists in developing a sourcing and hiring strategy to meet business requirements and manager expectations, while ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines and company procedures.

Maintains accurate records of resumes, applicant flow, and employee selection in accordance with Valero processes, procedures, and policies and appropriate national, state, and local laws and regulations including Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity (among others).

Reviews resumes, conducts phone screens and on-site interviews to determine candidate’s skills, experience, culture fit and knowledge in relation to position requirements.

Promotes Valero career opportunities, work locations, culture, benefits, perks and programs.

Utilizes applicant tracking system, on-line and social media recruiting tools, and networking to source and identify quality candidates.

Tracks, analyzes and reports candidate pipeline status, recruiting trends, market data and key performance indicators. Openly shares information with hiring leaders.

Supports the development and implementation of campus recruiting strategies at target colleges and universities in support of the Valero Intern Program. Assist with coordination of event scheduling and attendance at recruiting events including: career fairs, information sessions, interview days and networking dinners.

Ensures consistent, timely communication with hiring manager regarding candidate flow and recruiting status as well as provides relevant status information to applicants in the recruiting pipeline.

Supports Talent Acquisition & University Relations projects as assigned.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

High school diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree, or higher level degree, in Human Resources or related field preferred.

Ability to travel, if needed, during August-November and January-March preferred.

Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
