We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Senior Specialist to lead and manage the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing EHS policies and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while fostering a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. The EHS SR Specialist will serve as the main liaison with regulatory agencies and external contractors, and will play a key role in promoting a safety-first culture throughout the 2 facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop, plan, coordinate, and direct all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities within the facility.

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits throughout the plant.

Organize and lead floor-level safety meetings and training sessions for all associates.

Implement and manage comprehensive EHS audits and address findings.

Investigate all incidents and accidents; perform root-cause analysis and prepare detailed reports.

Communicate with external regulatory inspectors and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.

File and maintain OSHA 300 Logs and ensure compliance with all recordkeeping requirements.

Maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all hazardous materials used in the plant.

Respond to EHS-related surveys and data requests from internal (HQ) and external stakeholders (e.g., OSHA, DHEC, Department of Labor).

Report hazardous materials status (Tier II) and toxic chemical releases (Form R) to federal agencies.

Evaluate compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and initiate improvements as needed.

Maintain and renew environmental permits (e.g., air emissions, stormwater) in compliance with DHEC requirements.

Oversee EHS contractors’ activities, including environmental sampling, monitoring, and reporting.

Lead the effort to acquire and maintain ISO 14001:2015 certification.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field - preferred

Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DHEC, and other federal and state environmental and safety regulations.

Proven experience conducting incident investigations and EHS audits.

Familiarity with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.

Effective communicator with strong organizational and documentation skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.

Ability to collaborate across departments and influence a culture of safety and compliance.
