Tool Maker – Plastics Injection Molding (2nd or 3rd Shift)
We are seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in plastics injection molding and be highly skilled in the repair, modification, and building of molds and dies. This position is hands-on and requires strong machining and organizational skills in a tool room environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform die and mold repairs, including disassembly and reassembly
Operate lathes, grinders, and other traditional tool room machines and equipment
Set up and operate CNC machines
Perform various machining operations to support tool repairs and modifications
Conduct in-machine and out-of-machine tool repairs
Utilize EDM machines (a plus)
Weld using MIG, TIG, or laser methods (preferred)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Tool Maker in a plastics injection molding setting
Journeyman mold maker certification or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of machine tool operations (lathe, mill, etc.)
CNC and/or EDM experience preferred
Welding experience is a plus
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, stand, walk, and perform repetitive wrist motion
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (mechanical aids available for heavier loads)
