Paralegal - Long Island, New York
Our client, a law firm specializing in landlord-tenant litigation, is seeking a Paralegal to join their Long Island, New York office.
The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.
Overview:
This position will assist attorneys in managing case files, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the smooth flow of cases. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or other similar educational background
Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required
Knowledge and experience with electronic filing in New York and New Jersey State Courts preferred
Prior experience or familiarity with legal proceedings, especially in landlord-tenant matters is a plus
Prior experience in the NYC residential/legal market, specifically with Rent Stabilization Law, affordable housing programs (e.g., LIHTC and Project-Based Section 8) is a plus
Familiarity with Westlaw and legal research tools is a plus
Strong management, organizational, communication, and writing skills
Ability to independently multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Strong typing and data entry skills
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
