We're Hiring: Senior Engineer – Energy Efficiency
Location: Berlin, CT (Hybrid – In Office Tue/Wed + 1 Flexible Day)
Start Date: June 16, 2025
Contract: 1 Year (Potential to Extend or Convert to Full-Time)
A leading New England-based utility is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support its expanding Energy Efficiency team. This is a high-impact hybrid role ideal for someone who’s passionate about clean energy, building performance, and sustainability innovation.
What You’ll Do:
Review and approve complex energy efficiency projects involving HVAC, motors, lighting, and control systems
Calculate and validate energy savings aligned with program goals and regulatory standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product development, sales, and marketing teams
Lead technical training and support for internal staff and external partners
Develop tools, RFPs, and oversee technical vendor performance
Contribute to regulatory filings and represent the organization at energy conferences and stakeholder events
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
8+ years in engineering or related energy efficiency roles
Strong technical knowledge of:
HVAC, motors, VFDs, controls, and building systems
Local energy codes and efficiency modeling
Regulatory processes and compliance frameworks
Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills
Bonus Points For:
PE, EIT, CEM, or LEED certifications
Experience with Salesforce
Familiarity with multifamily or commercial efficiency projects
