The Asset Strategy Analyst will join our Asset Management team, which is responsible for enhancing asset value by maximizing property cashflows and investment returns. This team works closely with Capital Maintenance, Operations, Redevelopment, and Revenue Management to help drive capital deployment and identify inefficiencies. The Analyst will focus on financial reporting, data analysis, and strategic initiatives, and will be key to the ongoing success of the team. The Asset Management team is technology-oriented, and the Asset Strategy Analyst will help to drive continued focus and expand the capabilities of the team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Financial Reporting and Modeling
Support the Asset Management team with property and portfolio level reporting and forecasting.
Assistance in the creation, drafting, and presentation of executive material on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
Data Visualization and Interpretation
Collaborate to create visualizations reflecting various KPIs and financial performance.
Partner cross-functionally with Data/BI teams to ensure accuracy of internal data tools used for reporting.
Analysis and Strategy
Gather data to analyze, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and interpret the findings.
Develop and maintain models using Excel and other business intelligence tools to guide capital allocation decisions.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in economics, real estate, finance, philosophy, and/or data analytics required.
1-2+ years of experience in investment management, real estate, data analytics/business intelligence, or financial planning & analysis.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint). Familiarity with or ability to learn business intelligence programs preferred.
Strong financial literacy with the ability to interpret and analyze general business trends.
An ownership mentality – self-starter who is comfortable taking the initiative to make a meaningful impact.
Curious and inquisitive mindset with a continuous desire to learn and build.
WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:
Operates in a fast-paced work setting. Requires the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities. May involve tight deadlines and high-energy work situations.
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
Requires the ability to work Monday through Friday. Entails in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week consistent with the Company’s hybrid policy, located at Essex's corporate offices in Irvine, Woodland Hills, San Mateo, and Bellevue.
Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.
Regular travel to various locations for meetings, projects, client visits, or on-site work.

The pay range for this position is $81,000.00 - $114,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $81,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
