Operations Controller

Location: Greensboro, NC

Position Type: Finance

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Controller to join our Finance team in a manufacturing environment. This role will serve as a vital link between the Finance and Operations teams, ensuring that financial strategies align with operational objectives. The Operations Controller will be responsible for financial oversight, analysis, and reporting related to manufacturing operations, driving efficiency and profitability

Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight:

Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts specifically related to manufacturing operations.

Monitor operational costs and implement cost-control measures in collaboration with the Operations team.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.

Operational Financial Analysis:

Collaborate closely with the Operations team to assess financial impacts of production decisions.

Provide insights on cost variances and operational performance to support decision-making.

Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements for financial efficiency.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the budgeting process for manufacturing operations, incorporating input from the Operations team.

Develop accurate forecasts based on production schedules, market trends, and historical data.

Monitor budget adherence and provide actionable recommendations for corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as a liaison between Finance and Operations to ensure alignment on financial goals and operational strategies.

Facilitate communication regarding financial performance metrics and operational challenges.

Participate in regular meetings with both teams to review performance and address issues.

Performance Monitoring:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial aspects of manufacturing operations.

Prepare detailed reports for senior management on operational financial performance.

Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual results.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

Minimum of 5 years in finance roles within a manufacturing environment, with experience in cost accounting or operations finance preferred.

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and reporting specific to operations.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
