Engineering Manager

Our client is a highly profitable, growing, vertically integrated industrial technology platform with deep roots in the Traverse City area. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Manager to lead and develop engineering teams in the design, improvement, and maintenance of products. The Engineering Manager will oversee project execution, manage resources, and collaborate with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Lead and prioritize engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget. Oversee project progress and resolve bottlenecks as needed.

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop internal engineering staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

External Resource Management: Identify and manage external contractors to supplement internal capabilities and ensure successful project outcomes.

Technical Expertise: Maintain knowledge of engineering best practices, provide technical guidance, and improve documentation and standards.

Collaboration: Communicate with cross-functional teams, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring alignment on project goals.

Skills & Experience

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

10+ years of relevant experience

Strong proficiency in Solidworks and knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.

Proven leadership and project management skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, and priorities.
