Quality Lab Manager
The Quality Lab Manager plays an important role in our touchpad development process by providing technical and management support to the quality, engineering, and project management teams. This position reports directly to the Quality Director for Cirque Corporation and works closely with various engineers, managers, and project managers. The Quality Lab Manager directly manages a small team of technicians and performs testing themselves as well.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Automation and documentation of touchpad tests
Data collection and visualization
Troubleshooting and engineering testing of product
Setting up new manufacturing, engineering, and testing processes to meet quality standards
Owning the lab area and all equipment therein – improve, automate, document, mentor, train, calibrate, organize, etc.
Acting as the primary point of contact between the Engineering Technicians and the PM group.
Writing corrective action reports and other documents as needed.
Directly managing Engineering Techs, performing all of the following tasks personally and guiding the group to perform these tasks in accordance with priorities:
Perform Touchpad QA Test procedures (PTP test, failure analysis, GSM, ESD, etc.)
Modify Notebook PCs by swapping out touchpads and other modules
Manage and delegate tasks from Asana
Manage prototype and production assembly tasks such as 3D printing, soldering components on PCBs, assembling test equipment, and building touchpads
Other management tasks, including timecard & time off approval, meeting department goals, performance management, employee development, retention, interviewing, reviews, etc.
Requirements:
BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
2+ years of work experience in a technical position involving electronics testing, PCBs, and/or firmware development.
Some experience managing technical teams and projects.
Solid communications skills for sharing complex technical information via verbal and written media.
A high level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
