We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer III - IV in our San Francisco, CA or Sacramento, CA offices.
Job Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer III- IV you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
Additional responsibilities include:
Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
Coordinate with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team (architectural and engineering / internal and external)
Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work
Assist the Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT
Master drawing organization format and company standards
Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments
Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics
Job Requirements
Successful candidates for the Mechanical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.
Additional requirements include:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
Minimum of 3.5+ to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
Basic understanding of proper system selection
Basic knowledge of applicable codes
FE certification required
Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred.
