Paralegal

Position: Litigation Paralegal

Location: Reston

Salary: $50-75K DOE

Responsibilities:

Support complex state and federal litigation filings, including cite-checking, Bluebooking, and ensuring compliance with court rules

Manage court dockets, deadlines, and filings (primarily federal, with occasional state work)

Assist attorneys with document preparation, briefing logistics, case summaries, and legal research

Communicate with clients and external stakeholders when needed; contribute to intake systems and client coordination

Serve as a “go-to” problem-solver for legal operations: proposing process improvements, and managing case-related logistics

Collaborate with operations and case management staff to ensure high standards of client service and internal coordination

Handle tech-driven tools and litigation software to streamline internal workflows and filings

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal (complex litigation or appellate preferred)

Deep familiarity with federal filing systems, cite-checking, and litigation logistics

Detail-obsessed, deadline-driven, and able to anticipate next steps without being micromanaged

Strong communication skills—able to engage clients and coordinate with legal/ops teams professionally

Comfortable working in a startup-like legal environment where flexibility, initiative, and integrity matter

Familiarity with mass torts or high-volume plaintiff-side litigation a plus—but not required

Must Have’s:

2-3 years of litigation experience—open to civil litigation, complex litigation, plaintiff’s PI/MedMal/WC, etc.

Experience with e-filing in state and federal court

Experience with preparing legal pleadings from templates

Experience managing litigation deadlines
