Our Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) practice in the Washington, DC metro area is seeking a Project Controls Specialist with transportation engineering and/or construction experience to join our managed services project controls and scheduling support team at an agency of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. This is an onsite position in the client’s office location in Ashburn, VA.
This individual will be responsible for the following tasks:
Work collaboratively with the program support team consisting of 3 – 4 Project Control Specialists assigned to the Division’s Eastern region to execute the requirements of the Statement of Work (SOW) for a 5-year renewable services contract to manage a portfolio of large transportation engineering design and construction projects
Perform project controls and scheduling support tasks for projects in 30 states and Puerto Rico
Define and execute leading practice project controls strategies that mitigate operational and administrative schedule issues that improve schedule integrity, efficiency and productivity across all assigned project controls and scheduling tasks
Effectively utilize the Oracle Primavera P6 to perform required project controls and scheduling tasks at both the program and project level to support all project phases
Analyze assigned project schedules and generate periodic or ad-hoc reports to project stakeholders to provide in depth insight of project health to enable informed decision making
Provide bi-weekly/monthly status reports to the Chief of Engineering, Branch Chiefs, Construction Engineers, Program Managers, Project Managers, Functional Managers etc.
Work collaboratively with the client/project stakeholders to ensure the satisfactory fulfillment of all service level agreements
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3 years of project controls and scheduling experience in a large transportation engineering, construction or public works environment
Must possess at least 3 years of project controls and scheduling experience using Oracle Primavera P6 Professional or EPPM v21 or higher
Experience and good understanding of supporting scheduling activities at both the project and program level within all phases of the project
Prior experience utilizing Earned Value Analysis, Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and Float Analysis
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE PROCESS
COMPENSATION:
Annual salary is based on experience
10% annual performance bonus
