R&D Engineer Responsibilities:
• Develop, test, and optimize advanced models and algorithms using Mathematica, Maple, SageMath, Octave, or MATLAB to simulate and improve medical laser device performance and reliability.
• Lead projects from concept through production, including design, prototyping, validation, and implementation of new product features or process improvements.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including mechanical, optical, and electrical engineers—to integrate model-based solutions into system architectures and product designs.
• Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory requirements, preparing detailed technical reports and documentation for validation and quality control.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by researching innovative technologies, refining development methodologies, and enhancing existing processes.
• Communicate complex technical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
R&D Engineer Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience (5+ years preferred) developing and implementing Mathematica-based (or similar) solutions, with a proven track record of taking projects from concept through production.
• Experience in the medical device industry, particularly with medical laser systems or related regulated technologies is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in algorithm development, simulation, and model optimization, accompanied by solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• A collaborative, adaptable mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, team engagement, and taking ownership of challenges in a fast-paced environment.
