Job Title: Wire Harness Installation Design Engineer
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Wire Harness Installation Design Engineer to join our team, working on our prestigious military program for presidential airplanes (Air Force One). Wire Design and Installation Engineers will provide engineering support across the portfolio of products, to include – but not limited to - Military Aircraft, Military Derivative Aircraft (AEW&C, AWACS, C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, VC-25B, KC-45, B-1B, B-2, B-52 and others). This role involves designing and routing cables within the aircraft environment, ensuring all requirements are met, and applying general manufacturing methodologies. Additionally, you will provide shipside support on aircraft, resolving issues related to wire harness installation methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and route cables within the aircraft environment.
Verify compliance with all relevant requirements.
Apply general manufacturing methodologies to ensure efficient production.
Provide engineering support across the Boeing portfolio of products, including but not limited to Military Aircraft and Military Derivative Aircraft (e.g., AEW&C, AWACS, C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, VC-25B, KC-45, B-1B, B-2, B-52).
Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
Analyze results and perform design reviews.
Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
Document processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
Develop basic statements of work.
Participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
Analyze functional and physical input to ensure the development of a complete integrated design.
Work under general direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with Boeing or any OEM Company
Experience in electrical workbenches.
Proficiency with CATIA V5
