Location: Pasadena, TX Salary: $115,000 - $150,000
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Your Expertise Can Drive the Future of Industrial Excellence.
If you are a Process Controls Engineer with a passion for hands-on impact — driving process reliability, operational safety, and technological innovation — this opportunity places you at the center of critical industrial operations. You will take ownership of automation systems, optimize processes from concept through execution, and collaborate closely with teams across the facility to deliver real, measurable outcomes.
This role offers the challenge, autonomy, and project variety that seasoned engineers seek when looking for their next career-defining move.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Implement Control Systems: Develop, install, and maintain control strategies (PLC, DCS, SCADA) for batch and continuous process environments, ensuring optimized, safe, and efficient operations.
Lead Capital and Site Projects: Serve as the Direct Project Manager or Process Engineer on capital improvement initiatives. Coordinate with external engineering and construction firms to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Innovate and Improve: Identify opportunities to upgrade or redesign systems, enhancing plant productivity, energy efficiency, and operational flexibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement technical solutions and drive site-wide process improvements.
Safety and Compliance Leadership: Participate in PHAs (Process Hazard Analyses) and lead incident investigations, providing control system expertise to support safe and compliant operations.
Data-Driven Problem Solving: Collect, analyze, and interpret production data using engineering and statistical methods. Identify process bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions.
Support Operational Excellence: Drive improvements in process capability, product quality, and production volume while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
Minimum of 6 years experience working in industrial plant operations (batch or continuous processes).
Strong technical background in process automation, control system design, and troubleshooting (PLC programming, DCS configuration, instrumentation).
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage external partners.
Deep understanding of capital project execution, from concept development through commissioning.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly across all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of current industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to process control and safety.
What This Opportunity Offers:
Impact: Your expertise will have a visible and lasting effect on operational reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Growth: Be part of an environment that encourages innovation, supports skill advancement, and provides exposure to diverse technical challenges.
Visibility: Collaborate closely with leadership, engineering, and operations teams, where your contributions are seen, valued, and rewarded.
