DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android Application Developer to lead the development of sophisticated native applications for the Android operating system. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in developing native Android applications, a strong understanding of the underlying operating system, and proficiency in Java and C++, with significant experience in C and any relevant experience in Kotlin being highly valued. Proven experience developing custom kernel requests within the Android environment is critical for this role. Day-to-day responsibilities and duties include:
Lead the design, architecture, and development of high-performance native applications for the Android operating system.
Utilize expert-level proficiency in Java Language for core Android application development and mentoring junior team members.
Leverage extensive experience with the C++ Language for performance-critical components, system-level interactions, and potentially NDK development.
Utilize significant experience with the C Language for lower-level development tasks, system integration, and potentially kernel-level interactions.
Design, develop, implement, and optimize custom kernel requests within the Android operating system to achieve specialized and critical functionalities.
Apply any relevant experience with the Kotlin Language for potential cross-platform initiatives or specific project requirements.
Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, product owners, and other stakeholders to define and implement comprehensive and innovative Android solutions.
Write and maintain clean, well-documented, performant, and scalable code, establishing and enforcing coding standards and best practices across the team.
Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability.
Proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges, performance bottlenecks, and architectural issues within the Android applications and potentially the underlying system.
Optimize application performance, ensuring responsiveness, efficiency, and stability across a wide range of Android devices and versions.
Stay at the forefront of Android development trends, the Android operating system ecosystem, and relevant low-level system interactions.
Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level Android developers, fostering their growth and expertise.
Drive the adoption of Android testing best practices, including unit, integration, and UI testing.
Collaborate effectively within an agile development environment, participating in planning, estimation, and architectural discussions.
Take ownership of the technical aspects of Android application development and delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and security requirements.
Contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of our development processes, tools, and overall Android development strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants MUST
- must be able to qualify and maintain security clearance.
- have at least 2 years of Senior iOS application developer experience and have a good understanding of professional business environments.

- be punctual, responsible, and reliable

Pay: From $107,000 per year excluding bonus and benefits.

The schedule for this position is project driven and can be highly variable depending on project deadlines and the specific needs of the software development teams.
