Swoon is partnering with a Fortune 100 global leader to hire a skilled Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer for an initial 12-month contract, with strong potential to extend as part of a long-term (4–5 year) initiative. This opportunity is based out of Peoria, IL; Nashville, TN; or Dallas, TX, with occasional travel to client hub sites as needed.

Location: Peoria, IL, Nashville, TN or Dallas, TX
Duration: 12 months to start, potential to extend past the initial 12 months ( could turn into a 4-5 year initiative)
Daily Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 1st Shift; Working based on CT hours 8-5ish. Note: Flex hours to accommodate worldwide teams may be needed depending on project. They will have advance notice and will be able to work with the team for coverage.
Pay Rate: $6-64/hr W2, open to C2C, Self-Corporation candidates as well

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
This position will work directly with our Operational Technology Security Engineers on securing the client's growing OT environment, including industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, and connected IoT devices.
The individual will participate on initiatives to enhance OT cybersecurity, collaborating with global manufacturing and facility teams to secure critical infrastructure.
This role requires strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of cybersecurity trends to protect OT assets from evolving threats.

Typical task breakdown:
This person would typically attend our daily meetings with the Operational Technology Security Engineering team to get real time updates of the program. They would work directly with core program team members and project team members. Responsibilities would include:
Leading execution of OT Security Program initiatives
Conduct design and architecture reviews, ensuring security artifacts align with industry standards and regulations
Assist in OT remediation and mitigation efforts for identified security gaps
Collaborate with manufacturing and facility teams to integrate leading security practices in OT environments
Work closely with business partners to gain insights into the operational environment and specific OT security needs
Interaction with team:
Will be working with a US based team of about 15 people. Will work with worldwide internal business customers based on assigned projects.
Working in the Cybersecurity organization, particularly on operational technology, IOT devices, non-traditional IT devices connected to the company network.
Will have day to day responsibilities (Logical technical Architecture), but also project work (such as be a technical team lead or SME on assigned projects).
Education & Experience Required:
10+ years total experience in IT or manufacturing position
Bachelor's in one of the following: Computer Science, Networking, Manufacturing Engineering, Information Security
Associates degree also acceptable
Technical Skills:
(Required)
5+ years’ experience in managing factory manufacturing systems and networks.
5+ years’ experience in Cybersecurity or Networking or Operational Technology
1+ years exp in Visio
Experience with various ICS and SCADA equipment, including PLCs, DCSs, BMSs, and HMIs
Knowledge of IT (DNS, DHCP, HTTPS) and OT protocols (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, DNP3, BACnet, Profinet, OPC)
Ability to evaluate a technical solution for cybersecurity risks and work with customers on developing OT solutions with security in mind
Experience in security processes, including vulnerability assessment, risk analysis, and defense-in-depth

Experience with OT vulnerability management
Experience with monitoring of OT networks
5+ years of experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and system integration, with a focus on ICS and SCADA systems
1+ Years Experience in Project Management activities and capabilities.
Ability to effectively communicate technical security concepts to non-security audiences
Professional certifications (CISSP, GISCP, GRID, GPEN, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and experience managing multiple priorities and projects
Proven ability to develop and present security metrics and analysis to senior leadership
Experience establishing and/or managing an OT Community of Practice
