Shop Service Technician

* REQUIRED: this client is specifically seeking candidates with at least 4 years of experience in the US military, with a strong hydraulics and diesel background required*

Must be experienced with hydraulics and diesel equipment, preferably from rental equipment shop background.

Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Shop Service Technician in Houston TX. Compensation: $26.00-34.00/hour base (+ potential $2k quarterly bonus ($8k/year), quarterly safety bonus, pay increase as you become certified on equipment, onsite training, and certifications.)

What You Will Do:

Diagnose and repair diesel, electric, and hydraulic equipment; perform detailed mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on a wide range of equipment:

Diesel and gas engines

Electric lifts and batteries

Hydraulics, brakes, and control systems

Boom lifts, scissor lifts, skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers

Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and schematics to identify and repair faults

Replace/repair defective components (gaskets, seals, hoses, and wiring, etc.)

Use precision instruments (micrometers, multimeters, oscilloscopes) to test and verify system integrity

Maintain records of completed work (labor, parts used, and service notes, etc.)

Education and Work Experience:

Must have at least 4 years of US Military experience

Strong hydraulics and diesel background required

3+ years in mechanical/electrical repair (rental, heavy equipment)

On-site interview process:

Technical Q&A (will discuss diagnostics, schematics, repairs)

Soft skills assessment (must possess clear communication, present with professionalism)
