Our client—a well-established commercial general contractor based in North New Jersey—is looking for a skilled and ambitious Junior Estimator with 3–6 years of experience to join their growing preconstruction team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial projects including office buildings, retail spaces, healthcare, education, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $25M

Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify cost drivers and risks

Communicate and negotiate with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing

Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, budgets, and value engineering options

Work closely with senior estimators and project managers to ensure estimates align with project goals

Participate in bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required

What You Bring:

3–6 years of commercial estimating experience in general contracting or construction management

Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specs, and construction documents

Familiarity with On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and estimating software

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
