Description:

Algorithm Engineer – Search & Data Structures

Location: Austin, Texas

Sector: Flight Simulation / Aerospace Technology

We are working on behalf of an industry-leading client at the forefront of flight simulation and aerospace systems, seeking a highly skilled Algorithm Engineer with deep expertise in search algorithms and data structure optimization.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to next-generation simulation platforms—used for everything from pilot training to complex virtual airspace modeling. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building efficient, scalable systems and a strong background in algorithm design.

The Role:

As an Algorithm Engineer, you will play a key part in developing the core logic that powers real-time simulation of airspace and aircraft behavior. Your work will involve designing robust pathfinding methods, optimizing high-performance data structures, and ensuring seamless integration with simulation environments used by professionals worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement advanced search algorithms such as A*, Dijkstra’s, or customized variants for airspace navigation.

Architect and maintain efficient data structures (e.g., Tries, Hashmaps, Prefix Trees) for high-speed simulation tasks.

Analyze and benchmark algorithm performance to ensure optimal runtime and memory use across large datasets.

Work alongside cross-functional simulation and software teams to integrate your algorithms into production systems.

Stay current with emerging trends in algorithm engineering, simulation, and aviation technology.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

5+ years of experience in algorithm design and implementation.

Deep knowledge of data structures and computational efficiency.

Proficiency in C++, Python, or other performance-oriented languages.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with real-world application experience.

Exposure to simulation, aerospace, gaming, robotics, or similar technical domains is a strong advantage.

Familiarity with spatial modeling, airspace routing, or real-time systems is beneficial but not essential.
