About Abridge
Founded in 2018, Abridge is dedicated to fostering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform, designed specifically for medical conversations, enhances clinical documentation efficiency, allowing clinicians to prioritize their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology converts patient-clinician interactions into structured clinical notes in real-time, seamlessly integrating with EMR systems. Powered by Linked Evidence and our auditable, purpose-built AI, Abridge is unique in mapping AI-generated summaries to verified ground truth, enabling providers to trust and validate outputs quickly. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we set industry standards for responsible AI deployment across health systems.
Our diverse, growing team—comprising practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers—collaborates to empower people and make healthcare more intuitive. We operate from offices in New York’s SoHo, San Francisco’s Mission District, and Lawrenceville.

Research commercial and open-source solutions, providing build vs. buy recommendations to shape our technology strategy.

Build deep user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset.
Communicate effectively within and across our cross-functional product delivery teams, collaborating with design, product, machine learning, and infrastructure teams.
Mentor and learn from other engineers.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating cloud-based distributed systems at scale, with insights from both successes and challenges.
Experience leading major components or subsystems of a software platform, or the platform itself.
Proficiency with event pipelines and tools like Kinesis or Kafka.
Several years of experience building software in regulated environments, understanding tradeoffs for compliance with regulations like HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST.
Willingness to contribute across tasks in a fast-moving startup environment.
Base Salary: $162,000 USD - $234,000+ USD per year + Equity
Salary varies based on location, experience, skills, and qualifications. The range is for candidates in San Francisco and New York City metro areas. The role includes potential participation in a company stock option plan.
Work Requirement: Hybrid model, with a minimum of 3 days per week in our San Francisco or New York office. Relocation assistance is available.
We encourage applications even if you don’t perfectly match the job description. If you’re excited about the role, we’d love to hear from you.
