About the Role:
Morton Enclosures is seeking a high-energy, inquisitive, and resilient Quality Engineer ready to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building systems, leading teams, and adapting quality best practices to real-world shop floor conditions.
You will be mentored by our former corporate Quality Manager over a 3-6 month transition period, and will assume leadership of our Quality Technician team, with responsibility for scaling and improving their effectiveness as we grow.
This role blends hands-on operational quality leadership with strategic system development. You'll help translate our overarching corporate quality system into site-specific practices for our sheet metal and enclosure facilities in Fort Worth, TX and Dunlap, TN - and support our Road Armor business in Dallas as needed (estimated time split: 85% enclosures / 15% Road Armor).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and scale the Quality Technician team at the Fort Worth facility
Conduct root cause analysis and implement robust corrective/preventative actions
Help develop site-specific quality policies and SOP's within the broader corporate quality framework
Oversee documentation including control plans, PPAP, FMEA's, and customer-facing quality reports
Support internal, customer, and certification audits (ISO 9001 and others)
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to embed quality upstream
Provide support and guidance to the Dunlap, TN and Dallas, TX Road Armor operations as needed

Qualifications:
3+ years in manufacturing quality roles, ideally in metal fabrication, enclosures, or industrial equipment
Experience leading teams or acting as a team lead
Strong knowledge of root cause methodologies (8D, fishbone, 5 Whys) and corrective action process
Familiarity with ISO 9001; ASQ certifications a plus
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Comfortable in fast-changing, fluid environments; a self-starter with strong ownership mindset
Preferred Experience:
Working in a startup, growth-stage, or turnaround manufacturing setting
Exposure to multi-site quality operations
Process improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
