GE Smallworld Developer

Infosys is seeking a Senior Developer and Support Analyst with experience in implementing and supporting GIS solutions for Electric Utility specific to GE Smallworld platform. In this role you should experience in implementing GIS solutions in North American Utilities markets. S/he should have experience of playing the GIS developer and lead role for 5-8 years. Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Rosemead, California or Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require relocation and or travel to project locations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

• At least 5 Years of experience in Information Technology.

• 5 years of total GIS industry experience, with at least 4 years in GE Smallworld suite of solutions.

• Experience of at least 1 or 2 full-cycle implementations for a utility (Power) with hands on design, development and deployment experience in GE Smallworld.

• Development experience in Magik is required

• Should have experience in GE Smallworld, GE Core and PL/SQL and Smallworld data model.

• Development experience in C, Core Java, Java Script, JSP, Servlets and PL SQL will be an advantage.

• Should have experience in Business Tier Technologies like Java Beans, EJB

and Integration Tier Technologies like JDBC4.0, JNDI.

• Knowledge of Electric Utility Networks

• Exposure to US (Regulated and De-Regulated) Markets

• Experience of leading development team, working with client teams/SMEs and leading them through the project life cycle.

• Good interpersonal communications and analytical ability

Preferred skills and experiences

• GIS Web based application development (including Apps & custom widgets), testing and migration of related IT systems.

• Hands on design, development and deployment experience in GE Smallworld.

• Support cross-functional IT projects that rely heavily on GIS technology.

• Experience working on teams following Agile \ SAFe software development methodologies.

• Proof of concept (POC) development to validate proposed solution and reduce technical risk.

• Good knowledge of Electric Utilities

• FME

• Knowledge of GE ADMS will be an advantage.
