Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to partner directly with the CIO and lead end-to-end architectural design and strategic implementation of enterprise-grade data solutions. This individual must have deep expertise in architecting on-premises data platforms (batch and real-time) and strong command over cloud-native solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the data modernization roadmap for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the CIO and leadership teams to define enterprise data architecture strategy.
Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance on-prem data solutions for batch processing, streaming, and near real-time data flows.
Design cloud-native data pipelines and frameworks using AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, Redshift, and Athena.
Define data governance, quality, and security standards across all layers of the architecture.
Provide thought leadership on data modeling, metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data lineage.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, analytics, and business teams to align architecture with business needs.
Conduct architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Mentor data engineers, solution architects, and analysts on best practices and architectural principles.
Required Skills & Experience:
15+ years of experience in data architecture and enterprise data solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with on-prem technologies such as:
Informatica, Talend, Nifi
Kafka (for real-time streaming)
Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, etc.
Proven experience in architecting and migrating enterprise data workloads to AWS.
Expertise in AWS data stack: Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, EMR, S3, Redshift, Athena.
Strong understanding of batch processing frameworks, streaming platforms, and data lake/lakehouse architectures.
Deep experience with data modeling, data governance, metadata management, and security frameworks.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work at the C-level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Financial Services / Banking industry.
AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional).
Familiarity with tools like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar modern platforms.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices for data environments.
