Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess a strong understanding of speech therapy techniques. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders in students, with a focus on early intervention strategies. The Speech Language Pathologist will collaborate with educators and parents to develop individualized treatment plans that support each child's communication needs.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to individual student needs.
Provide direct therapy services to children in various settings, including schools and acute care environments.
Monitor and document progress, adjusting therapy techniques as necessary.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create supportive learning environments.
Educate families on strategies to support communication development at home.
Stay current on best practices in speech therapy and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
Experience working with children, particularly in school settings or early intervention programs.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pediatrics related to speech therapy.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational staff.
Previous experience in acute care settings is a plus but not required.
