Summary:
Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs encompassing sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities to help patients regain or adapt to their physical or mental challenges.
Teaches patient skills, evaluates reactions, and prepares progress reports.
Supervises volunteers, students, support staff, and assistants involved in therapy services.
Ensures safe care, interprets physician orders, protects confidentiality, maintains professional communication, and fosters a positive therapy environment.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school, knowledge of AOTA ethics, excellent communication skills, and licensure by the Board of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Examiners. New graduates are accepted; CPR certification is required.
