Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Day Shift with weekend rotation
Location: St. Luke's Hospital – New Bedford, MA

Responsibilities
Position reports to the Manager, Interpreter Services or designee. Provide coverage on-site for Interpreter Services as requested. Provide accurate consecutive interpretation. Develop a rhythm of interpretation to enhance the flow of communication between parties. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of encounters.
Qualifications
Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in a related field is required.
Training in medical terminology
Interpersonal skills appropriate for handling sensitive patient and/or employee issues.
Fluency in four (4) languages required, including English and three (3) assigned languages
Cape Verdean Creole
Portuguese
Spanish
One (1) year related experience preferred.
Certificate of completion of a 60-hour Medical Interpreter Training program
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
