Quality Engineer

This position will have responsibilities at our Albany Georgia plant. This role will supervise quality technicians while working to continuously improve operational and quality processes.

Participatory management

Serves as coordinator for the plant’s continuous improvement projects

Leads the CAPA process (corrective action, preventive action) and customer issue resolution

Conducts root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for quality, safety, and food safety concerns

Balance quality, productivity, and safety to achieve positive results in all areas

Perform regular audits of operational and quality processes to monitor and maintain effectiveness

Provide change leadership and ensure effective employee relations

Assists in the plant’s internal SQF and quality audit programs where needed

Ensures food safety compliance through GMPs/prerequisite programs and HACCP (as appropriate)

Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

Supervise Quality Technicians

Engineering Degree Required; preferably in Chemical/Industrial Engineering

Must have good communication and presentation skills

Must have experience understanding processes and process adherence

Motivated and self-directed team player with good interpersonal skills

Must have ability to influence at all levels within the organization

Must have the ability to influence others

Ability to create, implement, and sustain policies and procedures

Any Lean or Six Sigma training or certification is a plus

Experience with participating in and/or leading Kaizen Events

3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment
