Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Central Scheduler to join our team. The Central Scheduler plays a pivotal role in coordinating appointments, procedures, and resources to ensure optimal patient care delivery. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate patient appointments for various hospital services, including diagnostic tests, surgeries, consultations, and follow-up visits.

Utilize scheduling software and electronic medical records systems to accurately input and update patient information, appointment details, and physician preferences.

Collaborate with clinical departments, physicians, and administrative staff to optimize scheduling efficiency while prioritizing patient needs and preferences.

Communicate effectively with patients to provide appointment reminders, explain procedures, and address any concerns or questions.

Coordinate with insurance providers to verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and ensure accurate billing information.

Resolve scheduling conflicts and accommodate urgent or emergent appointment requests in a timely manner.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Prior experience in healthcare scheduling, medical office administration, or customer service preferred.

Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling software, and electronic medical records.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and colleagues.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
