Summary: The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating engineering and design activities while providing support to the Project Manager to ensure projects are executed in a safe, cost effective, and efficient manner.

The Project Engineer is responsible for maintaining the project schedule and monitoring costs while effectively communicating project objectives.

Responsibilities: * The Project Engineer manages all project deliverables, engineering interface, project controls, correspondence, field engineering, and project reporting by effective utilization of staff personnel.

* Use effective verbal and written communication skills.

Capable of calculating and solving mathematical equations.

* Read and understand plans and specifications.

Visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.

* Become thoroughly knowledgeable with the project's contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.

* Coordinate internal and external engineering and design resources to meet internal and external project deliverables.

* Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or may be encountered.

* Provide guidance and Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications.

Identify deficiencies and take corrective action as needed.

* Listen to directions and suggestions from supervisors or other employees regarding safe and proper work practices; evaluate that information and devise and implement a plan based on that evaluation for carrying out the duties of this position.

* Identify safety hazards in the workplace and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.

* Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices.

* Produce quality work meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.

* Develop and maintain the project master schedule using CPM techniques and appropriate scheduling software with input from other project management personnel.

Provide guidance and support to others as they develop schedules.

* Set up and maintain the Project Management Information System to provide necessary reporting and accounting.

* Manage document management; oversee the process by which incoming and outgoing documentation is produced, organized, distributed, filed, and administered to internal and external customers.

* Review project deliverables and contract documents for change of conditions; quantify impact of changes, and communicate with affected parties (i.e.

field personnel, client, etc.). * Support the preparation of monthly cost projections using the information generated from Project Management Systems, assist project personnel in preparing detailed short interval schedules as required, and prepare cash flow projections as required for project reporting and evaluations.

* Drive and participate in meetings internally and externally in a professional and organized fashion.

* Assist project manager in implementing the project quality assurance / control program.

* Manage assigned components of the prime contract and lower tier subcontracts.

* Look for ways to improve project operations; recommend, as appropriate, better methods, staffing, and procedural changes.

* Perform any other job-specific duties as requested by supervisor.

* Oversee field supervision to maximize support of field personnel.

* Support and provide insight for constructability reviews with design engineering personnel for optimum performance and installation.

* Monitor project risk to minimize exposure and provide guidance in project performance.

* Coordinate work with other departments, vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and co-workers on meeting project initiatives.

* Create a positive working relationship in those situations where engineering is being provided by either a partner or a subcontractor.

* Coach, mentor and support department's learning and performance.

* Education and Experience: * 10+ years working with Engineering, EPF or EPC companies.

* Engineering (Bachelor's degree) required.

Chemical Engineering (Bachelor's degree) or Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor's degree) preferred.

* Must have proven skills in engineering management, accounting, scheduling, business administration, contract management, field Engineering, and material control.

* InEight (Intermediate) * Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate) * Primavera P6 (Advanced) * Bluebeam (Basic) Physical Requirements: * Ability to reach, stand, walk, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.

* Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs.
