Medical Lab Technician

Job Description

MLT under direct supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, performs predetermined aspects of qualified tests and quality control following standardized procedures. Maintains supply and specimen inventories, records temperatures, performs and documents specified preventative maintenance procedures. Actively participates in maintaining laboratory cleanliness; preparation, distribution and storage of department documentation; interacts with other departments and the public so as to facilitate patient care in a competent and professional manner. He/she will also set up both instruments and manual tests under proper supervision, enters results of send outs for review and release, as well as perform billing functions as directed.
