What Will You Do?
Certifications:
Tacking
Under direct supervision and guidance, weld by arc method using stick, gas or flux-shielded wire, semi-automatic, button or stud welding equipment
Under direct supervision and guidance, weld on carbon, alloy or stainless steel plate, sheet, shapes, castings or other parts included in fabricated steel work
Clean welds by chipping, grinding or brushing where required
Complete up to 2 qualification tests
Learn the Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specification requirements
Demonstrate an understanding of the proper use of hand tools, grinders and welding equipment
Assist Welders and Fitters in cleaning, moving, holding, clamping and preparing work pieces
Required to work at elevated heights up to 75ft
Add’l duties and responsibilities may be assigned
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
Your Experience Should Be...
High school diploma or equivalent
One year experience as a tacker
Requirements may be obtained through on-the-job training
