Job Description:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

As a Senior System Administrator, you'll be responsible for defining system specifications, ensuring hardware/software compatibility and system security. You'll coordinate the design of subsystems and integrate them into the overall system, identifying and resolving program support deficiencies along the way. Your work will involve developing and documenting frameworks for integrating and implementing changes to technical standards, as well as recommending corrective actions and providing technical guidance to systems engineers, software engineers, and other team members. You'll lead detailed technical discussions, guide the evaluation and selection of solutions, and organize teams for project work. Additionally, you'll manage the internal administration, maintenance and management of capacity resources for computers at the operating system and infrastructure level. This includes building, configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating new and existing servers to enhance services, deploy applications, and upgrade infrastructure. You'll set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, and allocate mass storage space. Identifying, testing, and deploying patches will be a key part of your role, as will conducting system analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.

Essential Functions:

Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administration or Engineering, 4-6 years of experience with Windows Administration or Engineering

Configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization and container technologies (e.g. VMWare, Docker, Podman, etc.)

System configuration experience with Enterprise Identity Management tools (e.g. LDAP, IPA, Active Directory, etc.)

Experience in automating tasks using scripting (e.g. PowerShell, BASH, etc.)

Experience implementing patches, scanning, remediating findings, and auditing

Support critical operations during standard and occasional non-standard working hours.

Experience in the implementation and use of cybersecurity tools (e.g. ACAS, SCAP, etc.)

Ability to work individually or as part of a cybersecurity team

Perform backup management, system migrations, and ensure high availability across infrastructure services

Provide architecture-level guidance and oversight across multiple concurrent projects

Work with lead engineers to ensure engineering designs are sound and fit overall architectural concepts

Address and detect issues that impact projects and implement/develop courses of action (COAs) to mitigate or alleviate the impact to projects

Ensure project schedules are being met and identify any constraints/concerns

Support/facilitate customer meetings and ensure compliance with project requirements & overall architectural design

This position is performed 100% onsite and cannot be performed remotely

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience

Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience

TS/SCI clearance required

DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 certification

Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Additional Skills:

DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 3 certification (e.g. CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH).

CM Automation (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

Experience with Trellix administration

Experience deploying system security monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk)

Experience with requirements databases such as DOORS, issue tracking software such as Jira, knowledge management tools such as Confluence

System configuration experience with Identity Access Management (IAM), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Role Based Access Control (RBAC)

Experience with construction and configuration of data Cloud environments such as AWS or GovCloud using government software

System configuration experience with SANs

Demonstrated ability to work and grow in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment

Establish and maintain up-to-date cybersecurity configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices

Understanding of security best practices (e.g. Zero Trust, Least privilege)

Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State is $108,500 - $201,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
