Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead, Test Engineer to conduct testing of rocket motors and energetics at our Camden, AR facility. From small motors to large solid propellant rocket motors greater than 20 feet long, rocket testing is a challenging and exciting place to work! The Test Engineer is responsible for performing the integration and/or test of all components, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. In support of system design activities, responsible for test and/or integration of COTS-based electromechanical systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system. Testing responsibilities may include analyzes requirements for testability issues. Develops and implements both hardware and software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance. Plans and leads test working groups, test readiness reviews. Conducts testability and producibility analyses and reviews.

Essential Functions:

Lead Test Engineer will work with Design Engineers from multiple programs to set up testing in compliance with Test Plans. This individual will need to develop plans that cover procurement, instrumentation installation, SOP/SI generation, OJT training and in bay leadership during the test.

Write Test Specific Instructions to support Program Test Plan that incorporates all required instrumentation, conditioning requirements, motor handling and data reduction.

Coordinate Instrumentation of the test motor per the test plan. Previous instrumentation experience and compliance with MIL-STD-810 a plus.

Provide direction to Test Team during test in bay.

Assist with motor moves into Conditioning Chambers at all hours of day or night as required.

Learn to set and program Conditioning Chamber temperature per Test Plan. Previous experience with Espec controls is a plus.

Generate presentations such as Four Panels, answer formal CAR from customers, coordinate with Quality Assurance to provide RCCA investigations as required.

Identify and develop Process Improvement Programs.

Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related engineering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science preferred.

Previous experience with environmental testing, energetic operations and Camden Operations / Quality requirements preferred.

Electronics and Electrical circuit background preferred.

Experience with PLC programming.

Experience with Military Standard Testing (Mil STD 810).

Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Experience in a leadership role with exempt and non-exempt employees.
