Job Description:

The Principal, Global Trade Compliance will focus on managing L3Harris’ trade related internal monitoring program while supporting the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations as required. Internal monitoring includes monthly and quarterly self-assessment activity as well as site visits and support of L3Harris Internal Audit requirements. This position reports to the Director, Trade Compliance, L3Harris Technologies.

Essential Functions:

Manage and lead the trade internal monitoring program to include, but not limited to, coordinate and schedule monthly, quarterly, and annual self-assessments, compliance assistance visits (CAVs), and other internal monitoring activity as applicable.

Manage and lead and data collection in preparation of and reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual self-assessments, compliance assistance visits (CAVs), and other internal monitoring activity as applicable.

Coordinate and support trade audits led and managed by L3Harris’ Internal Audit function

Review, track and follow-up on corrective actions related to CAVs, self-assessments, audits, and other internal monitoring activity as applicable.

Assist with investigations and other compliance matters as needed

Support investigation activity related to Reportable Compliance Incidents (RCI) as needed

Assist with managing the corporate trade compliance program.

Develop and implement business processes, procedures and tools to ensure compliance with U.S. Government trade regulations and corporate policies

Analyze reports and metrics pertaining to various elements of the export/import process, and report on trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities

Provide support to assist with fulfilling the requirements of the Consent Agreement

Provides advice and guidance to senior leaders on the complex application and implementation of U.S. Government trade regulations

20% travel domestically

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior experience in trade compliance or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

6+ years experience with conducting and reporting related to self-assessments and audits

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with AuditBoard or OCR EASE

Experience managing a team, including full-time employees and contractors

Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel at all levels, both verbally and in writing

Exhibits a high attention to detail, integrity and discretion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint

Demonstrated consistent application of company and industry business practices and concepts

Attention to detail and follow through on tasks assigned

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong presentation skills

Ability to travel as necessary to support the functions of the job

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $103,000-$191,000. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $118,000-$219,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
