Job Description: Responsible for the internal or customer administration, maintenance and management of capacity resources for computers at the operating system and infrastructure level. Builds, configures, troubleshoots and integrates new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Recommends software and hardware enhancements, diagnoses and corrects issues, defines and implements new services with the goal of achieving maximum server uptime and availability for the customers. Responsible for monitoring performance, system usage. Contributes towards the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), backup systems and disk configurations. Conducts system analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies

Essential Functions:

Administer, configure, and maintain Linux systems across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

Design, deploy, and manage SAN/storage systems, including storage arrays, fabric switches, and storage appliances.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate provisioning, configuration management, and system deployments.

Proactively identify, assess, and remediate risks related to outdated, unsupported, or vulnerable system components, ensuring system reliability and compliance with operational standards.

Monitor, troubleshoot, debug, and optimize storage and SAN environments to maintain high performance and availability.

Develop, maintain, and enhance automated workflows for building, configuring, and deploying Linux hosts in SAN-connected environments.

Design and implement high-availability, failover, and disaster recovery solutions within SAN and storage network infrastructures.

Generate and maintain operational reports, metrics, and dashboards to monitor system health, track performance, and ensure storage quality standards are met.

Apply security patches, conduct vulnerability scans, and perform remediation activities to maintain system integrity and comply with audit requirements.

Participate in and support critical system operations, including after-hours maintenance windows, incident response, and on-call rotation as required.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while also demonstrating strong independent troubleshooting and project execution skills.

Note: This position is performed 100% onsite and is not eligible for remote work

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or

Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Public Trust Clearance required.

DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 certification.

Operating system certification required within 6-months of accepting offer.

Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience administering Red Hat environments using Red Hat Satellite Server, Ansible Automation Platform, and GitLab for automation and configuration management.

Hands-on experience with IBM storage technologies, including General Parallel File System (GPFS), V7000 series, DCS 3700, and IBM tape backup systems.

Experience managing and supporting HPE 3PAR storage systems and Cisco SAN networking infrastructure.

Broad expertise in enterprise storage administration, including provisioning, optimization, and troubleshooting across SAN, NAS, and backup systems.

Familiarity with hybrid cloud deployments, including AWS and/or AWS GovCloud environments.

Exposure to cybersecurity hardening standards such as DISA STIGs and compliance scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, SCAP) is a plus.

Understanding of modern security best practices, including Zero Trust architecture and least privilege access models.

Previous experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. government customers preferred.

Willingness to travel or accept occasional field assignments is preferred.

TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
