Job Description:

This position is responsible for Quality control, process improvement, training and technical support related to the Annual Service Contract (ASC) support for Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program, including suppliers of materials, products or services used in development and sustainment of systems. This person will be primarily responsible for hands-on training and certifying personnel to soldering, contact crimping, wire-wrap and HAZMAT processes while ensuring compliance to established Quality processes. Other areas of responsibility include auditing, First Article and Source Inspections, in-process inspections, systems testing, and Quality Systems. Provide technical support for new and ongoing projects supported by the Integrated Technical Services Field group at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station as well as other duties assigned.

Essential Functions:

Quality Engineering

Developing, coordinating, and implementing quality assurance training programs

Assessing the needs of the organization and developing training materials to meet the needs

Primary instructor for connectorization, wire-wrap, and soldering training

Overall POC for company HAZMAT process and coordination with customer and Base

Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to processes

Collaborate with internal and external customers ensuring quality standards are in place and executed

Develop and implement quality processes and procedures using quality control statistics and analyses

Perform statistical analysis for continuous process improvements

Perform elements of Advanced product Quality Planning (Process Flow Diagrams & Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and First Articles)

Perform Quality Assurance Receiving Inspections, in-process inspections, as built configuration verifications, Government sell-offs

Perform Statistical Process Control, Predictive Quality methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies

Production Quality Engineering support

Use Six-Sigma & Lean concepts for Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) to determine Root Cause for products, materials not meeting requirements including audit findings, implement/monitor Corrective Actions

Technical Support

Active participant in Integrated Process Teams

Provide Quality Engineering support for manufacturing work documentation

Writing procedures/policies, work instructions and perform modifications and proofing

Technical support for the installation, grooming, operation, maintenance, and modification of complex electronic systems to include Radar, RF, satellite communications, data recording, and software operating and interfacing systems with minimal oversight

Support process improvement initiatives both technical and operational in nature

Willingness to travel (domestically/International) up to 10% percent

Strong written, presentation and communication skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

5 years experience collaborating with suppliers to adjudicate quality concerns

5 years experience as a trainer or similar role

6 years strong knowledge of quality control standards and protocols

5 years experience to develop and deliver training programs

5 years experience managing a HAZMAT program

6 years experience presenting to customers and management

6 years Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing, Management, or Quality Sciences

6 years experience with Nonconforming product process

6 years experience with Receiving Inspections for compliance to procurement requirements

Posses or able to obtain and maintain DoD secret security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

Auditor experience

Certified CIT for IPC-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-0001 standards

Certified to Navy Strategic Systems Program (SSP) OD51700

Costpoint database experience

Critical Supplier Auditing

Experience with Predictive Quality and problem-solving methodologies

Familiarity with Circuit Card Assembly and cable manufacturing process

First Article and Source Inspections

ISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experience

Facilitate Root Cause Analysis using Six-Sigma tools

Lean Six-Sigma (belt certification)

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Procedure/Report authoring, revising

SharePoint database experience

Ability to prioritize, and multi-task to successfully drive projects to closure

Ability to generate metric and quality systems reports

Ability to perform trend analysis on quality metrics or manufacturing defects

Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills

Ability to travel oversees
