Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence data analyst with a strong and progressing background in data analytics, data modeling, business intelligence, and operational insights to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset with experience working with business intelligence platforms (ideally Power BI) and will bring an analytical background to help transform complex data into actionable insights. Through use of data analytics, data visualization and data modeling techniques and technologies, the data scientist/architect/analyst will develop and support dashboard solutions that can help other departments, managers and executives make strategic and tactical business decisions. This individual will be key in supporting and developing new tools and providing comprehensive support to internal customers, requiring strong skills in data validation. This individual will work closely with other team members, application developers, data engineering and the business and IT owners of the data sources.

Essential Functions:

Maintain, enhance, and design Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for business operations, optimizing performance through best practices in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.

Extract, transform, and analyze data from Snowflake, Palantir, and other data sources to enable effective visualization and reporting, ensuring data validation and quality checks for accuracy and consistency.

Support self-service analytics initiatives by empowering business users with data access and visualization tools, and collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend data-driven strategies to enhance business efficiency, staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence, data analytics, and visualization.

Work with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, operations, data analytics, and program management to ensure BI solutions align with business objectives and improve synchronization.

Apply best practices in data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques to connect large data sets from a variety of sources, developing logical and physical data models.

Prepare and deliver presentations to executive, remote, and unfamiliar audiences, effectively communicating complex data insights and BI solutions.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and continuous improvement of BI processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant data analystics experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related data analytics experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related data analytics experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

B.A., B.S., or equivalent in a quantitative subject (computer science, engineering, mathematics, sciences, information systems, statistics, etc.)

Experience working with Power BI and/or Tableau or Palantir

Proficient in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling

Knowledge of SQL for querying data sets

Experience working with Snowflake, Palantir, and Alteryx

Ability to analyze large datasets, uncover trends, and present data-driven insights

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address business challenges with data

Experience working in with cross functional teams in an agile environment with data engineering and analytics teams

Experience collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments to deliver meaningful insights

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing best practices

Experience in Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain industries

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $78,000-$145,000. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $90,000-$167,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
