Job Description:

The Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area.

Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.

Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures Identifies and addresses changes within own job area.

Utilize proficient knowledge of the job area and practical knowledge of project management.

Manage projects or processes with general supervision.

Recommend enhancements to systems and processes.

Work to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects or assignments.

Sets objectives for own job area to meet the goals of projects and assignments.

May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support level employees.

May occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Engineer experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related Engineer experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related Engineer experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Effective communication with contacts within and outside department.

Ability to explain and interpret processes and procedures.
