Job Description:
As the Specialist, Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for hardware and software requirements definition, decomposition, allocation, management, verification, and validation of technical products and systems. You will also be responsible for conducting component trade studies, performing system integration, and characterizing system performance.
The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies.
Essential Functions:
Experience with Radar and/or other RF systems
Responsible for requirements definition, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems embracing agile product systems and software development and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) processes to enhance development speed and quality; Leads the execution of rapid learning cycles in requirements development, design, build, integration & test and verification & validation in a design-to-cost and design-for-manufacturability environment
Develop, track and present technical performance metrics
Help perform risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects
Execute system integration and engineering test efforts
Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies.
Responsible for improving upon existing Systems Engineering processes
System design synthesis of complex electronic systems to include processes and interfaces in testing
Perform trade studies on a variety of systems and components
Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground and flight test
Analyze data from design verification test efforts
Develop and run simulations and other analysis tools to predict system performance in various environments
Present results during internal and external program meetings
Participate in proposal activities both cost and technical
Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
Up to 10% travel may be required

Qualifications:
U.S. citizen
Active DoD clearance with current 5 year update
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
System level design experience in which the applicant has been involved in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems, the definition of multiple interfaces and been involved in the trades of multiple solution options
Hands on experience being involved in system integration, engineering testing, and system performance characterization
Experience using Microsoft Office products
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products
Experience integrating sensors into air vehicles
Experience leading a small team to complete assigned program tasking
Experience with Matlab, LabView, Python, or C/C++/C#
Experience in Control Account Management as part of an Earned Value Management System
Experience in advanced radar sensor system development
Experience with requirements management
Experience with proposal development including generating basis of estimates
Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations
Experience with qualification testing.
Experience with reliability and safety analysis
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
