Ironclad Defense Works Inc., a mission-driven leader in defense services and innovative contracting solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bid and Proposal Specialist to join our growing team in Norfolk, Virginia. This individual will play a critical role in shaping our responses to competitive solicitations from government and industry clients, ensuring that every submission reflects Ironclad’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and mission alignment.

Position Overview:

As a Bid and Proposal Specialist, you will lead and support the development of compliant, compelling, and high-quality proposal responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other government solicitations. Working closely with our technical, operational, and business development teams, you’ll help coordinate the end-to-end proposal lifecycle—from opportunity qualification through final submission.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze RFP/RFI documents to identify requirements, deliverables, evaluation criteria, and compliance items.

Manage and track proposal development schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Draft, edit, and format proposal narratives, executive summaries, compliance matrices, and supporting documentation.

Coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders and subcontractors, facilitating pink and red team reviews.

Ensure strict adherence to proposal guidelines, formatting standards, and Ironclad’s quality control procedures.

Maintain accurate proposal archives, templates, and past performance data.

Conduct research and gather intel to support win themes, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in federal or defense contracting proposals (NATO, DoD, or intelligence community experience highly desirable).

Strong knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and/or NATO procurement standards and practices.

Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines with attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; experience with proposal management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Monday.com) is a plus.

U.S. citizenship is required; current or prior security clearance preferred but not required.Why Ironclad?
