Position Summary:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Reviews and verify residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets established standards, including but not limited to loan type and amount of mortgage, borrower(s) assets, liabilities, and length of employment
Recommend loans be denied due to not meeting minimum standard
Contact the credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information. May require submitting accurate information to credit bureau for verification and/or re-scoring purposes.
Facilitating the gathering of loan conditions and submission for final loan approval to meet established loan closing dates
Communicate loan status to sales partners
Develops and maintains knowledge of regulations and compliance while complying with company policies and secondary market requirements pertaining to credit/security standards and regulatory requirements relative to conventional, government and self-employed loans, among others; industry standard conveyance/settlement procedures; current real estate laws and appraisal requirements
Have 2-3 years of experience processing FHA or VA loans preferred
Keep abreast of changes in policies, standards, and regulations applicable to work units. Understand and apply local, state, and federal regulations relating to processing mortgage loans
Promotes and provides excellent customer service by effectively communicating and cooperating with all internal and external customers
The nature of communication activities involves distributing and exchanging information with others, working with confidential information, following up with customers, referring customers to appropriate person(s), composing correspondence and memoranda. Prepare documents and forms with accuracy and attention to detail
Functionality and operation of software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet and database) sufficient to perform job duties. Use of Automated systems for processing in order to verify and ensure the accuracy of data input/output
General office practices and customer service skills. Operation of office equipment at an acceptable level of proficiency
Interpretation and application of loan processing policies and procedures in order to correct errors and resolve discrepancies. Apply principles, practices, and regulations applicable to mortgage lending and secondary market
Working as liaison between customer and loan officer
Assisting loan officer with each file submission
Understanding of appraisal and underwriting process
Complete assigned work to meet deadlines in a high production environment
Study a situation and decide on the course of action based on analysis and within scope of authority
Contribute to productivity of team through mentoring newly hired processors
To assist Team Manager with day-to-day functions
Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of mortgage loan processing and/or related experience
Ability to adhere to the bank’s professional dress code and convey a positive and professional image to internal management and associates and external customers; ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, and mature with the ability to deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure.
People and results-oriented; aggressive and assertive with a high energy level and the ability to work under deadlines, perform multiple tasks, and manage multiple projects in conjunction with normal activities.
Ability to meet performance goals, objectives, and deadlines; plans ahead, anticipates problems, and forecasts outcomes.

Ability to work well with others in a team environment and balance multiple tasks; strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
