Vistra seeks an experienced Policy Analyst to provide support in analyzing, developing, and writing policy in support of DoD programs related to prevention of harmful behaviors in the military. The ideal candidate applies knowledge of DoD and Federal Government policy development and revision processes to assess existing policy and develop new or revised policy to address gaps and implement improvements. The Policy Analyst will coordinate with clients and other stakeholders to gather and adjudicate input and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. The candidate will work independently with some guidance.
Vistra is hiring for this position within 50 miles of The Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. The Policy Analyst must be available to support period requirements onsite at The Mark Center and Pentagon.
Responsibilities and qualifications include:
Ability to critically think, examine complex issues, and identify gaps and possible solutions/improvements to problems
Ability to provide clear verbal and written communications, including presentations and information papers, to a variety of clients and stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations
Connect disparate concepts to develop cohesive, comprehensive policies and guidelines
Design a comprehensive policy evaluation plan
Knowledge of the DoD and the Federal Government’s (e.g., Washington Headquarters Services) policy development process preferred
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience
Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating primary prevention policies and programs preferred
Experience working in a military environment or with military personnel
Knowledge of change management strategies to facilitate policy development/implementation
Ability to obtain a security clearance
