SUMMARY

In support of the university's mission and objectives, the Video Editor achieves impactful storytelling by managing both production and post-production elements of video projects. This role partners with the Senior Video Editor to complete compelling video content that aligns with brand identity and strategic goals. This position includes flexibility to adapt to diverse content needs while ensuring polished, engaging, and technically sound video deliverables.

Video Editing & Post-Production

Manages elements of the editing process, assembling raw footage into compelling, high-quality videos.

Edits video content to ensure clarity, pacing, and visual storytelling meet creative and technical standards.

Enhances footage with motion graphics, visual effects, and sound design to elevate production quality.

Completes color correction and grading to maintain consistency and cinematic aesthetics.

Coordinates with marketing and creative teams to ensure all edits align with branding and messaging.

Workflow & Asset Management

Organizes and manages media assets in the server, ensuring accessibility and efficient workflow.

Assists in developing and implementing post-production processes to streamline editing and revisions.

Adapts editing workflows to accommodate project-specific needs, including short-form and long-form content.

Supports the development of student workers to grow professionally and to learn best practices in the field.

Assists in keeping the tape system updated to ensure all the footage and projects are properly archived.

Quality Control & Delivery

Conducts detailed reviews of all edited content to ensure quality, accuracy, and brand consistency.

Integrates feedback from team and clients to refine and finalize video content.

Completes final renders, exports, and optimizes videos for various platforms, including web, social media, and live events.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Post high school training required; Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

1+ years’ experience in video editing. Proven ability to craft compelling stories through video editing and visual storytelling. Experience collaborating with creative teams, clients, and on-camera talent to achieve project goals. Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and motion graphics tools (After Effects).
