Human Resources Specialist II, Grade N22: $71,426 - $97,495

WHAT WE’RE SEEKING
The Office of Human Resources seeks to fill one (1) full-time Human Resources Specialist position (Classification Specialist) with responsibility for examining job characteristics/core duties and preparing recommendation reports of findings and analysis.

What You'll Be Doing
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Research and gather job related data/information through techniques such as conducting desk audits/interviews, examination of position descriptions, etc.
Conduct thorough job analyses accurately documenting core job related duties, responsibilities, and required knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs).
Evaluate positions using prescribed analytical and evaluative classification methods and determining appropriate job classifications.
Prepare reports comprising analyses of findings with recommendation.
Develop and maintain job descriptions.
Participate in salary surveys by mapping/matching surveyed jobs to County jobs.
Assist in the development and implementation of classification policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and interpretation of classification policies to employees, supervisors, and management.
Collaborate with HR colleagues on various projects, including organizational design and workforce planning initiatives.
Maintain accurate classification records and databases.
Minimum Qualifications
These positions may be filled at the following levels:
Human Resources Specialist III - Considerable (3 years) applicable experience in personnel administration in classification, compensation, or data analysis and interpretation.
Human Resources Specialist II - Some (2 years) applicable professional experience in personnel administration.
Human Resources Specialist I - Some (1 years) applicable professional work experience in personnel administration.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Finance, Statistics, or related fields.
Equivalency:
(1) An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
(2) Possession of a graduate degree in one of the above fields may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences
Preference for interview will be given to qualified candidates with experience in the following areas:
Adept application of point-factor (quantitative) and narrative classification methodologies, principles and practices.
Conducting due diligence research by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting job related data/information.
Preparing comprehensive classification reports detailing analysis of findings with recommendations.
An active and current HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, IPMA-HR).
